Williams Field, or Willy Field is a US Antarctic Program airfield located on the Ross Ice Shelf about 7 miles from McMurdo Station. It's the field the LC-130's use for flights to/from Christchurch, South Pole, and other deep field locations. The other airfield at McMurdo in 2015 was the Pegasus Field, where the larger and heavier C-17's landed. I flew into Pegasus and out of Willy.  Click on thumbnails to enlarge and hover over enlarged images to see captions.
