Photographs from my April, 2019 trip to Spitsbergen, Svalbard during the season called sunny winter, with 15 hours of daylight and gaining 18 minutes each day. By late April the sun is up 24 hours a day. Sunny winter allows travel by snowmobile, an advantage for seeing the back country, in summer the fragile tundra allows only hiking, or travel by boat on the Fjords.
